United Way of Forsyth County offers several giving options for your convenience. We welcome your gift of stocks/ securities or giving via credit card, and will be glad to bill you on the schedule you select.
Stocks/Securities
Proceeds from the sale of stock/securities may be used to make a monetary gift or to satisfy a pledge made to the United Way of Forsyth County. United Way of Forsyth County has an account with most of the major stockbrokers in our area.

To use the proceeds from the sale of stock/securities to make a gift or to fulfill a pledge, please follow the guidelines below:
- Contact the United Way office to let them know you will be transferring stock. Contact your stock broker and tell them you would like to transfer stock to the
- United Way of Forsyth County's account. Give the broker all the information regarding the name of stock and the number of shares.
- Ask the stock broker to notify the Finance Department at the United Way and tell them that stock has been transferred into United Way's account. Ask the broker to mail a confirmation of the transaction to you and to United Way.
- Ask the stock broker to give to United Way the following information:
- Your name as the contributor
- Name of the stock that was transferred
- Number of shares and the value per share
It is the policy of the United Way of Forsyth County to sell stock immediately when notified by a broker that stock has been transferred to United Way's account. The amount credited to a contributor's account will be the value of the shares on the date the stock is deposited in United Way's account.
