The Emergency Assistance Network quietly exists here in Forsyth County. What you may not know is that over 6,000 new individuals asked for assistance last year and more than $2,000,000 was provided for assistance in paying rent, utility bills, etc. In collaboration with the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, United Way of Forsyth County has taken over the administrative duties of the system. The eight current organizations providing emergency assistance are: Crisis Control Ministry, Forsyth County Department of Social Services, the Experiment in Self-Reliance, Sunnyside Ministry, Salvation Army, Family Services' Head Start, Catholic Social Services, Augsburg Lutheran Church, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and Centenary United Methodist Church.
If your organization would like to be a part of this network, please contact John Conrad at 336-721-9311 or john.conrad@uwforsyth.org.
