Many people live in homes that were passed down to them from parents, grandparents and other relatives. Like most Americans, these homes provide not only a place to live but also a resource for the future. But if the home passed without the deed coming with it, that resource can be put in jeopardy. Homes that pass without new deeds being filed are known as “heirs property.” In this 1-hour workshop we will describe how a homeowner can clean up title and options for getting a deed in their name.
