Topic: Place Matters: Understanding Your Housing Rights During the Pandemic
The pandemic is causing a lot of stress for families in our community. In addition to health concerns and working to stay well, families are also fearing the loss of their homes due to eviction and foreclosure. Even when an eviction or foreclosure seems inevitable, it is important to know that tenants and homeowners still have rights and can be protected from abuses.
Please join Place Matters in partnership with the WFU Community Law Clinic on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. for a seminar on legal protections available to tenants under North Carolina’s Landlord Tenant Act. We will cover the eviction process, a tenant’s defenses and how tenants can be their own advocate in court. The seminar will last for about an hour and offer plenty of time for questions and discussion.
